Dunwoody Fencing Club has received USA Fencing's 3rd annual Aspire Award recognizing our work to create access and advance the sport of fencing in our local community
Dunwoody Fencing Club is honored to receive a USA Fencing 2025 Fencing the Gap Community Impact grant. Fencing the Gap grants are aimed at increasing access and providing more opportunities to experience the sport of fencing
Dunwoody Fencing Club is a USA Fencing Club of Excellence.
Each year, USA Fencing recognizes only five clubs across the nation, honoring the outstanding work being done at the grassroots level to grow and sustain fencing. We are doubly honored as our club has been awarded this recognition twice.
Dunwoody Fencing Club is one of only two clubs in the United States accredited by the North American Mangiarotti Society as a Center of Instruction in the Modern School of the Italian Sword.
DFC is recognized by the United States Department of Health and Human Services as a National Youth Sports Strategy Champion. Recognition as an NYSS Champion is awarded for outstanding work in promoting youth sports participation.
We are the first Guild Academy in Georgia. Recognition as a Guild Academy shows that our coaches adhere to the highest USFCA standards of professionalism in coaching
Dunwoody Fencing Club fencers have been named to All-Academic and All-American teams every year since the creation of the programs. We have consistently been among the top ten clubs in the nation
Our certified professional coaches value and promote educational achievement as well as achievement in the sport of fencing. Our students have excelled in fencing at the following educational institutions:
- Durham University (London, England) - DFC fencer was named a recipient of the Durham University Elite Athlete Scholarship for graduate studies and international competition
- Northwestern University (NCAA Division 1) - DFC fencer earned a fencing scholarship, made NCAA Regionals, two-time All-Midwest Conference First Team, three-time NCAA Midwest Conference Team Champion, 150 career wins, Academic All-Big Ten
- Brown University (NCAA Division I) - DFC fencer made NCAA Regionals in the freshman year
- MIT (NCAA Division I) - DFC fencer made NCAA Regionals in the junior year
- St. Johns University (NCAA Division I) -DFC fencer made NCAA Regionals twice
- University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (NCAA Division I) - DFC fencer earned a fencing scholarship and was named team captain
- Cleveland State University (NCAA Division I) - DFC fencer was named Rookie of the Year in his freshman year
- University of San Francisco - DFC fencer won US Collegiate Club Championship
- Virginia Tech - DFC fencer was named team captain in his freshman year
